When we asked a group of Chorlton Park pupils how they would describe their school, the words that came up time and time again were ‘happy’, ‘friendly’, ‘fun’, ‘big’, ‘welcoming’, and ‘ecofriendly’. You won’t get a better picture than that from league tables or Ofsted reports - although we do very well in those too! We were delighted to be judged as ‘outstanding’ in our most recent Ofsted inspection in June 2013.
Chorlton Park is a large primary school, with more pupils than any other in Manchester, but we're proud of our caring and inclusive environment.
We have high academic expectations, and making sure that all our children reach their protential is key to everything we do. Our school is built on the belief that it is happy and secure children that achieve the most.
What’s different about Chorlton Park is that our children are at the centre of everything we do and we never lose sight of this. The best way to get to know our school is to come in and soak up its atmosphere.
We want all our children to have a rewarding and enriching experience with us, and to leave us equipped to succeed and thrive in whatever they wish to do.
Chorlton Park is an outward looking school that relishes working with other schools and organisations. We are part of a Federation with Old Moat Primary School and are proud to be have been made a 'Teaching School' in 2013. In the words of the Department for Education: "Teaching schools give outstanding schools a leading role in the training and professional development of teachers, support staff and headteachers, as well as contributing to the raising of standards through school-to-school support."
Having become a teaching school we were able to join with other schools (and the University and Council) to form the Manchester Teaching School Alliance. This alliance offers high quality training and professional development for teachers and leaders at all stages of their career, which puts us in a great position to develop our own staff and provide the best teaching and learning for our pupils.
